The ranking of the Top 100,000 most influential scientists in the world was researched by the Metrics group of professors Jeroen Baas, Kevin Boyack, and John P.A. Ioannidis (Stanford University, USA) and published in the journal PLoS Biology (USA) and on the website of Elsevier publishing house.
According to the latest ranking updated on October 10, 2022, among the Vietnamese scientists who are working regularly in the country, two scientists entered the ranking in the top 10,000 globally. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc ranked 7455 and was ranked 94th in the world’s field of engineering. Besides, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc is also one of the top 10,000 outstanding scientists in the world for four consecutive years: 2019; 2020; 2021; and 2022.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc – Director of the Master’s Program in Civil Engineering at Vietnam Japan University.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc is currently the Director of the Master’s Program in Civil Engineering at Vietnam Japan University. With his rich experience, GS has made many great contributions to the process of building the content of the training program so that the top is broken and most realistic, specifically:
- The first is the design and construction of transportation infrastructure, such as bridges and highways, with modern technologies.
- The second is the planning, management, and maintenance of infrastructure projects toward sustainable development (more than 40 percent of ODA from Japan to Vietnam has been invested in infrastructure and the urban sector).
- The third is the utilization of new advanced materials in construction.
In 2022, after considering ways to promote the university’s strengths, VJU opened an Engineer’s Program in Civil Engineering (ECE), represented by Prof. Dr. Hironori Kato from the University of Tokyo, Program Co-Director. The training programs in the field of Construction Engineering and the training program in Construction Engineering at Vietnam Japan University have been built on an interdisciplinary basis between the majors of Construction Project Management, Civil and Industrial Construction, and Urban and Traffic Works.
The partner of the program is the University of Tokyo, the most prestigious university in Japan, which is ranked 35th in the world according to The Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2022 (Learn more).
“We strive to become a training cradle for future engineers – who will design and implement infrastructure for smart and urban cities in Vietnam” – Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc shared.
