As part of the “Hamamatsu Nishi High Overseas Field Study 2026” program, VNU Vietnam Japan University (VJU) welcomed a delegation of teachers and students from Hamamatsu Nishi High School (Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan) for an exchange visit on July 21.

Launched in 2024 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Hamamatsu Nishi High School, the program aims to nurture young people who aspire to become future leaders in the global community with a strong commitment to social contribution. Through visits to public institutions and companies, as well as international exchange activities, participating students gain firsthand insights into local culture, society, and professional environments.

The visit to VJU began with welcome remarks and introductions by representatives of both institutions. Students from Bachelor’s Program in Japanese Studies (BJS) and Bachelor’s Program in Computer Science and Engineering (BCSE) then introduced their academic programs, student life, and learning experiences at VJU.
The atmosphere quickly became lively as the Hamamatsu Nishi students took turns introducing their school, hometown, and life in Shizuoka Prefecture in both English and Japanese. Conversations about culture, daily life, and personal interests helped bring the students closer together, creating a friendly and engaging environment for cross-cultural exchange.
In addition to the exchange session, the Japanese delegation toured VJU’s My Dinh Campus to learn more about the University’s learning spaces, research facilities, and student life. The visit concluded with a networking session, where students continued their conversations, made new friends, and shared perspectives on education, culture, and everyday life in Vietnam and Japan.

Exchange activities like this are part of VJU’s ongoing commitment to fostering international engagement. By creating opportunities for students from Vietnam and Japan to learn from one another and deepen their cross-cultural understanding, these activities continue to strengthen VJU’s role as a bridge for academic and cultural exchange, while advancing educational cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
