From August 6 to 11, 2026, a delegation from the Faculty of Advanced Technology and Engineering (FATE) of VNU Vietnam Japan University (VJU) visited and held working sessions at The University of Osaka (UOsaka), Japan, at the invitation of Prof. Morikawa Yoshitada.
During the visit, the delegation toured research laboratories and engaged in in-depth discussions with The University of Osaka professors on future cooperation in education and research in nanotechnology, advanced materials, and semiconductor engineering technologies. The two sides focused on strengthening the participation of UOsaka faculty members in VJU’s Master’s Program in Nanotechnology, expanding internship opportunities at UOsaka, and developing a framework for a dual Master’s degree program in Nanotechnology between the two institutions.
Building on our long-standing partnership and the collaborative achievements developed over many years, VJU and UOsaka have reached an agreement in principle on several key directions and important contents for the development of a dual Master’s degree program in Nanotechnology, with implementation targeted for September 2027.
The proposed program is expected to include the following main components:
- Launch of the dual Master’s degree program in Nanotechnology from September 2027;
- Students are expected to spend one year studying at VNU Vietnam Japan University in Vietnam and 10-12 months at The University of Osaka in Japan;
- During their study period in Japan, students may receive full scholarship support, enabling them to focus on academic and research activities;
- Students will have opportunities to conduct research directly in The University of Osaka’s advanced laboratories and cleanroom facilities, with priority access to cutting-edge research areas, particularly in semiconductor technology, nanomaterials, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
The development of the dual Master’s degree program in Nanotechnology with UOsaka represents an important step in VJU’s internationalization strategy. In the coming period, the two institutions will continue working together to finalize the curriculum and operational framework in preparation for the program’s official launch in September 2027.
The proposed program is expected to become one of the flagship collaborative education models between VJU and UOsaka further strengthening Vietnam-Japan academic cooperation and making a meaningful contribution to our efforts to develop high-quality human resources in advanced technologies in the coming years.
