On September 4, 2020, Ms. Chuman – The Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Viet Nam paid a farewell visit to VJU before her return trip to Japan. Ms. Chuman has been working in Viet Nam for 3 years and will come back to work at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan. The successor Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Viet Nam is Ms.Okamoto.
Reception to Ms.Chuman and Ms.Okamoto are members of VJU’s Rectorate Board, advisors and JICA experts. In this meeting, Ms.Chuman and VJU members looked back at the achievements that both sides have achieved in recent years. On behalf of Viet Nam Japan University, Prof.Furuta Motoo – Rector of VJU expressed thanks to Ms.Chuman for her support to Vietnamese students in general and VJU’s students in particular during her term in Vietnam. About 20 students of VJU have successfully applied for MEXT scholarships to go for a PhD study in Japan, of which 6 students received this scholarship through the Japanese Embassy channel. Ms. Chuman did make remarkable contributions for human resource development of Vietnam in the near future. Prof.Furuta Motoo expects to receive support of Ms.Okamoto in the coming term in Viet Nam.
Ms. Chuman also sent her sincere thanks and best wishes to the Rectorate Board and all VJU staff, lecturers and students.
