ADMISSION SCOPE AND ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must fulfill the requirements of Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Vietnam Japan University, specifically as follows:
Degree Requirements:
Applicants must hold a master’s degree or a formal bachelor’s degree with a Good classification or above in a major relevant to the doctoral program applied for, or hold a qualification equivalent to Level 7 of the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework in certain specialized majors relevant to the doctoral program
Research Capacity Requirements
- Research experience must be demonstrated through a master’s thesis from a research-oriented training program and published works
- A research proposal must be submitted
- A recommendation letter from at least one scientist holding the rank of professor, associate professor, or the degree of Doctor of Science or Doctor of Philosophy
Foreign Language Requirements:
- An English language certificate equivalent to Level 4 of the Vietnamese Six-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework / A bachelor’s degree or higher obtained through a program taught entirely in English / A bachelor’s degree in English Language or English Language Teacher Education.

Application procedures:
Step 1: Register an account and update information at: https://tssdh.vnu.edu.v
Step 2: Register for admission: Fill out information and upload documents including:
– Graduation degree, Master’s/Bachelor’s transcript – under the section “Upload Bằng, Bảng điểm tốt nghiệp”.
– English certificate – under the section “Upload Chứng chỉ ngoại ngữ”.
Note on other documents: National ID/Passport, Health certificate, Research proposal/Scientific publications/articles, other related papers must be compressed into a single file .zip and uploaded under the section “Upload Chứng chỉ hoàn thành bổ túc kiến thức” (if applicable).
Applicants must submit 01 hard copy set of the dossier to the Admissions Office, Room 510, 5th Floor, My Dinh Campus, Luu Huu Phuoc Street, Tu Liem District, Hanoi, or via EMS post.
Step 3: Click the “Ghi nhận” (Submit) button to confirm application information.
Step 4: Pay the application fee via bank transfer to complete registration:

Tuition and fees
– Tuition Fee: 50,000,000 VND / year.
– Application Fee: 1,200,000 VND / dossier.
ACADEMIC PLAN
– Enrollment time: Expected in November 2026.
– Duration of training:
+ For applicants with a Master’s degree: 03 years (36 months).
+ For applicants with a Bachelor’s degree: 04 years (48 months).
