Today (September 21) marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, a significant day for both countries.
The Vietnam-Japan relationship is widely regarded as holding immense potential, given the remarkable growth trajectories being pursued by both countries. The 50th anniversary of the relationship is an opportunity to take stock of their historical and contemporary ties and lay the groundwork for deeper and more sustained cooperation in the future. By working together as equal partners, Vietnam and Japan can leverage their respective strengths and create mutually advantageous outcomes that will benefit their peoples and contribute to regional and global stability.
The bilateral relationship between Japan and Vietnam is built upon a foundation of mutual understanding and empathy between their respective populations. Furthermore, this relationship is strengthened by the contributions of individuals across a variety of fields.
Vietnam Japan University (here in after is referred to as “VJU”) was established in 2014 as a member of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, based on the realization of a Joint Statement between the two countries on the development of an international university, a symbol of fruitful friendship of Vietnam and Japan.
After 10 years of establishment and development, VJU has become an important bridge for the cultural and educational exchange activities, and contributing to the promotion of Vietnam – Japan friendship. With the mentioned roles and missions, the education programs of VJU not only aim to provide professional knowledge but also focus on Japanese humans, culture and language.
Currently, Vietnam Japan University is implementing 08 master’s programs (Master of Area Studies, Master of Business Administration, Master of Civil Engineering, Master of Climate Change and Development, Master of Engineering Environment, Master of Nanotechnology, Master of Public Policy and Master of Global Leadership) and 06 undergraduate programs (Japanese Studies, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Intelligent Mechatronics System & Japanese Manufacturing, Smart Agriculture and and Sustainablity, Food Technology and Health). With that role and mission, the undergraduate and graduate training programs of Vietnam Japan University, in addition to providing in-depth professional knowledge by industry and industry groups, also focus on equipping learners with knowledge about Japanese culture, language and people.
The University’s strength is its network of leading Japanese university partners such as The University of Tokyo, Osaka University, University of Tsukuba, Yokohama National University, Waseda University, Ritsumeikan University, Ibaraki University. In recent years, universities between the two countries have had many joint programs to train high-quality human resources. Vietnam Japan University plays a pivotal role in the development of high-quality human resources, which is increasingly critical for fostering a strong partnership between our two nations. The ability to cultivate a skilled workforce is fundamental to building a solid foundation for collaboration and growth.
