On July 19, 2022, at VNU-Vietnam Japan University (VJU), The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between Vietnam Japan University and the leading Japanese retail group Fast Retailing took place under the witness of leaders of the parties.
Attending the ceremony, on the side of VJU, there were Prof. Furuta Motoo – Rector of the university, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Oanh – Vice Rector, Mr. Shinichi Ishihara – Chief Advisor of TC Project, Mr. Tsujimoto Atsushi – Sub-Chief Advisor of TC Project, and representatives of other departments of the university. On behalf of Fast Retailing, there were Mr. Noriaki Koyama – Head of CEO Office, Mr. Tomoaki Kuroyanagi – Manager, CEO Office and Mr. Shota Miura – CFO of Uniqlo Vietnam.
The purpose of the cooperation is to improve the capacity of students of VNU-VJU, and contribute to the intellectual, cultural and career development of students, helping them to acquire a good career and personality in the future.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Furuta Motoo – Rector of the university sent his sincere thanks to Fast Retailing and representatives for visiting and working at VJU. The professor said that VJU’s mission is to train students to become high-quality human resources for businesses in Vietnam, Japan and the world. Therefore, VJU is always looking for opportunities to cooperate with leading businesses to help students access and get acquainted early with high-quality international working environments. The signing of the MOU with Fast Retailing is the clearest proof of VJU’s outstanding training quality. Professor Furuta Motoo emphasized, The Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties has set a new milestone for the cooperation relationship, and believes that this will bring the best opportunities for VJU students and for Fast Retailing Group.
Mr. Noriaki Koyama – Head of CEO Office of Fast Retailing, expressed his appreciation to VJU for preparing a very solemn signing ceremony. Mr. Koyama said that the group always considers Vietnam as one of the potential markets and has invested a lot in Uniqlo stores in the country. Besides, Fast Retailing is always looking for talented individuals to attract recruitment and training to become global leaders. Two students of VJU have already become the talents of Fast Retailing. Therefore, the cooperation with VJU is an important and profound activity that will help Fast Retailing to have the opportunity to recruit talents trained by one of the leading universities in Vietnam.
Right after that, Mr. Tomoaki Kuroyanagi – Manager, CEO Office of Fast Retailing, and Dr. Hoang Thi Thu Duyen – Deputy Chief of R&D Promotion and Cooperation Development Office together reviewed the main contents of the MOU. Accordingly, Fast Retailing will provide scholarships worth 100,000 Japanese Yen per academic year (equivalent to 17,000,000 VND) to excellent VJU students. In addition, the corporation will also provide lectures and seminars for students. In particular, students will have the opportunity to have scholarship for an internship in Japan and have early access to job opportunities at Fast Retailing in both Vietnam and Japan. VJU will support Fast Retailing in its PR and research activities, and will bring the image of Fast Retailing closer to the university system in Vietnam. VJU is also committed to providing Fast Retailing with well-trained potential human resources at VJU.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Oanh – Vice Rector of VJU and Mr. Noriaki Koyama – Head of CEO Office of Fast Retailing signed and exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding, officially opened learning and self-development opportunities for VJU students as well as started an extensive cooperation relationship between the two parties in the future.
