Overview: Since opening the first store in December 2019, UNIQLO has 9 stores in Vietnam (as of the end of October 2021). In addition to store expansion in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi City, we start e-commerce all over Vietnam on November 5, 2021. Considering the land shape of Vietnam which is vertically long, how to efficiently deliver products in stores and e-commerce is an important management issue for business in Vietnam. In Vietnam, there are many partner factories that manufacture UNIQLO products. As you learned in the first lecture, in the S.P.A model, which is UNIQLO’s business model, it is essential to cover end to end business process and centrally manage product planning, production, and sales. The important idea of UNIQLO’s supply chain is to connect the world’s most advanced information, technology and supply chain, which is called “Ariake Project”. In this lecture, we will discuss how UNIQLO advances its supply chain with “Ariake Project”.
