On July 17, 2023, the signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding between VNU Vietnam Japan University and Ha Long University, Quang Ninh province took place at campus 1, Ha Long University, Uong Bi City, Quang Ninh Province.
At the beginning of the signing ceremony, representatives of the two universities shared and exchanged about future expectations for cooperation between the two parties. Dr. Nguyen Duc Tiep, President of Ha Long University said was very pleased with this meeting, as a former Japanese student, who graduated from a leading Japanese university. Quang Ninh province has paid great attention to developing relationships with Japanese partners. In particular, the province also received a lot of support from organizations such as JICA, JETRO, JP Foundation when they joined the advisory board to support Quang Ninh province.

Both parties are honored to receive a lot of support from the Japanese Government, especially from H.E Mr. Tsutomu Takebe – Special Advisor of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance. The signing ceremony between the two parties is even more meaningful when it was signed on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan. Besides, Dr. Nguyen Duc Tiep also shared about future visions and expectations for the cooperation of the two sides
Representative of Vietnam Japan University, Rector, Prof. Furuta Motoo also shared, through meetings in October 2022 and February 2023, the two parties reached a high consensus on the future cooperation plan that the two sides have jointly built. Prof. Furuta Motoo expressed his delighted when the relationship between the two sides has officially begun, with many common points in terms of development premise, establishment time, training industry, as well as with their strengths, the two sides can provide maximum support to partners for sustainable and comprehensive development.
