Promoting the establishment of The Center for Japanese Culture and Language under Vietnam Japan University (VNU)

On May 4, 2023, Special Advisor to Japan – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance Takebe Tsutomu had a visit and worked with the representative of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the representative of Vietnam Japan University at Hoa Lac Campus, to promote the establishment of The Center for Japanese Culture and Language under the Vietnam Japan University.

The idea of establishing a Center for Japanese Language and Culture to support the training of high-quality human resources in terms of skills, language, culture, etc., in the form of short-term programs in collaboration with different educational institutions was introduced at the second meeting of the VNU Vietnam Japan University Council for the 2021-2026 term in February.

Mr. Takebe Tsutomu believes establishing a Center for Japanese Language and Culture is a good idea. Since April 2023, the project has been assessed using JICA’s funds to survey the center’s launch. This is a great program that promotes and increases exchange activities between Vietnam and Japan, directly addresses social needs, and gives students’ ambitions wings while studying at VNU-VJU.

On this occasion, the Special Advisor also raised the issue of establishing a Career Development Centre to provide job opportunities for workers returning from Japan. He hoped that VNU could participate in methodical consultations and surveys, especially in the legal aspects of Vietnam and Japan for establishing this center.

VNU President Le Quan expressed his respect for Mr. Takebe’s enthusiasm for the development of Vietnam Japan University and appreciated the feasibility of the Special Advisor’s proposal based on the expertise of the VNU Human Resource Development Center, which is capable of collaborating with the Japanese partner in this field. Hopefully, during the next five years, the Center will be a prestigious location for Japanese and foreign firms to seek high-quality human resources in a variety of sectors.

Within the framework of the meeting, the Special Advisor and his delegation visited the lecture hall and dormitory area of VNU Vietnam Japan University at Complex HT1, HT2, and Project QG-HN04.
