Vietnam Japan University (VJU) and FECON Corporation (FECON) signed a memorandum of cooperation in a formally-organized ceremony on January 29, 2018, marking a milestone in their working partnership.
Among the attendees were representatives of FECON, namely Mr. Pham Viet Khoa – Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh – CEO, Mr. Le Quang Hanh – Deputy General Director and heads of the company’s departments. The ceremony also had the presence of Prof. Dr. Furuta Motoo – VJU Rector, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Vu Anh Dzung – VJU Standing Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Oanh – Vice Rector, and chiefs of the University’s functional departments. Faculty members and students of the Master’s program in Infrastructure Engineering were also present at the ceremony.
Based on their strengths and development strategies, VJU and FECON agreed to cooperate in academic programs, scientific research and technology transfer for the development of higher education, science and technology (S&T) of the country in general and for human resource development and S&T researches of the two parties in particular. Specifically, the two partners will collaborate in: Searching for and deploying research programs and projects in science and technology; Sharing scientific and technological knowledge, experiences and information; Organizing local and international seminars and conferences; Promoting, improving public images and enhancing brand equity; Training and offering internship opportunities for FECON staffs and VJU students.

Prof. Dr. Furuta Motoo, VJU Rector said: “The agreement would open up opportunities for VJU students to do internships, gain hands-on experience and work for a leading firm in hi-tech infrastructure in Vietnam. Besides, I sincerely hope that FECON could derive benefits in the partnership with Vietnam Japan University. We would be honored to welcome FECON’s managers and experts at Vietnam Japan University to study, share experience, and undertake collaborative research. Strong links with businesses would help shape the University’s curriculum and ensure it is grounded in the real world. I really hope that the partnership with FECON would aid Vietnam Japan University in cementing relationships with other businesses in Vietnam.”
