On March 6, 2018, the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between VJU and Thu Dau Mot University took place and marked a milestone in the relationship between the two universities.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of Thu Dau Mot University, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hiep – the Rector, Dr. Ngo Hong Diep and MSc. Ngo Thi Nhat Hang – the Vice Rector. VJU delegation includes Prof. Dr. Furuta Motoo – VJU Rector, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Vu Anh Dzung – VJU Standing Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Oanh – VJU Vice Rector.

The two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, academic, research and education exchanges in the fields of mutual interest, including: exchange of faculty, experts and students to access and transfer Japanese knowledge, experience and technology from Japan to be adopted in Vietnam; cooperation in training and fostering young human resource development as needed by the parties through hands-on activities, internship or short-term and long-term training courses; collaboration to build research teams and seek funding for research in pivotal areas; exchange and share of information on graduate scholarships for high performance students of the two universities; coordination in organizing workshops and thematic seminars, both domestically and internationally.

The Rector Dr. Furuta Motoo hopes the cooperation will be beneficial to both universities. Vietnam Japan University is very pleased to welcome the teachers and students of Thu Dau Mot University to learn and share experiences and explore joint research practice at VJU.

Speaking on behalf of Thu Dau Mot University, Rector Ngo Hong Hiep asserted the orientations of VJU are in line with Thu Dau Mot University’s goal of developing research-application oriented university, especially researches related to the South East, the Southern key economic region and Ho Chi Minh City as well as the impacts of Industry 4.0 in every aspect of life. VJU’s development potential and valuable support will fuel this cooperation’s growth.
