LECTURERS IN THE FIELD OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING

Vietnam Japan University (VJU) is a new university model in Vietnam, the seventh member university under Vietnam National University-Hanoi (VNU), envisaged to become an internationally recognized university, and a symbol of the close and fruitful cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.

In parallel, VJU coordinates intensively with prestigious universities in Japan such as The University of Tokyo, Osaka University, University of Tsukuba, Yokohama National University, Waseda University, Ritsumeikan University, Ibaraki University to meet the needs of Vietnamese and also Japanese higher education.

VJU invites applications for position of Full-time Lecturer in the field of Computer Science and Engineering.

1. Regarding application conditions
   • Qualifications: Have a master’s degree or higher which align to the job position and teaching field. For a master’s degree holding candidates, a commitment to achieve PhD degree within 4 years from the date of recruitment is required.
   • Research capability:

   + Have experience to be the PI or member of a research project at the grassroots or higher level, and/or

   + Be the main author or co-author of 02 (or 01 if the candidate is holding a Master’s degree) publications in specialized journals in the WoS/Scopus database or equivalent.

   In case the candidate has no published publication yet, the candidate must commit to have at least 01 publication in specialized journal in the WoS/Scopus database or equivalent before the expiration of the 1^st contract.

   • Other requirements:

   + Have a professional title certificate that align with position of university lecturer

   + Under 35 years old for candidates with a Master’s degree

   + Ability to apply Information Technology in teaching and research

   + Proficient in using foreign languages ​​(English) to serve teaching and scientific research.

   2. Regarding tasks and performance targets:

   Evaluation criteria	Research-oriented lecturers (applicable to lecturers with a PhD degree or higher)	Teaching-oriented lecturers (applicable to lecturers with a Master’s degree or higher)
   Teaching (required)	270 standard hours/year (at least 50% of hours taught directly in class or online)	330 standard hours/year (at least 50% of hours taught directly in class or online)
   2.Research (required)	Converted equivalent to 1000 working hours/year In particular, for the task of publishing scientific articles and publications: be the main author of at least 01 article in the WoS/Scopus database or 01 article in a prestigious international journal in the science industry  and computer engineering (accepted by the University)/year	Converted equivalent to 600 working hours/year In particular, for the task of publishing scientific articles and publications: be the main author of at least 01 article in a domestic scientific journal on the scoring list of the Interdisciplinary – Interdisciplinary Council of Professors/year
   3. Academic advisor (mandatory): 08 office hours/week
   4. Training activities (encouraged)
   5. Publish scientific publications (encouraged)
   6. Attract funding for research (encouraged)
   7. Developing a research team (encouraged)
   8. Attract talented learners (encourage)
   9. Concurrently in charge of management, party and union work, and coordination of training programs (as assigned by the School): Reduced standard teaching hours according to current internal spending regulations, corresponding to the time administrative for part-time activities

Recruitment process

• The review of applications and nominations will continue until the position is filled. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by Evaluation Committee appointed by the Rector.
• Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract. Tenure-track or extension of the contract can be offered upon performances.
