Vietnam Japan University (VJU) is a new university model in Vietnam, the seventh member university under Vietnam National University-Hanoi (VNU), envisaged to become an internationally recognized university, and a symbol of the close and fruitful cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
As VNU’s member university, VJU can leverage upon VNU’s intrinsic advantages and resources. In parallel, VJU coordinates intensively with prestigious universities in Japan such as University of Tokyo, Osaka University, University of Tsukuba, Yokohama National University, Waseda University, Ritsumeikan University, Ibaraki University to meet the needs of Vietnamese and also Japanese higher education.
The opening of the JLEC was welcomed by then Prime Minister Abe and President Quang of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the Japan-Vietnam summit meeting in May 2018, where a statement was made to “strengthen cooperation to further improve the environment for Japanese language education”.
Later, a “Basic Agreement on the Joint Operation of JLEC” was signed With us corp., a Japanese private education company.
We aim to develop human resources who will take on the challenge from Vietnam to Asia, and from Asia to the world through we will strengthen cooperation in the fields of Japanese language education and Japanese language teacher training, and through the practice of Japanese language education for a wide range of age groups. In addition, we will mutually cooperate with each other to produce human resources who can play an active role at the international level in solving global issues.
Job Purpose
To increase awareness of JLEC (Japanese Language Education Center affiliated with VJU) and attract students by creating promotional materials and digital content, conducting public relations activities, and managing web advertising.
Required duties and responsibilities
- Collecting and providing various information on JLEC’s services.
- Planning the marketing plan and strategy on JLEC’s services.
- Planning and Production of content (text, images, videos, etc.) for websites and social networking services.
- Liaison with website development company and VJU marketing staff.
- Website and SNS advertising operations, analysis, and optimization proposals.
- Planning and implementation of JLEC events and activities.
- Participation in conferences and meetings held by JLEC and VJU.
Qualifications
- Education: University Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- Work experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in PR and marketing or a related field.
- Knowledgeable about education in Vietnam and the field of Japanese language education.
- Familiar with Japanese academic working style is an advantage.
- Foreign language: Be fluent in spoken and written English.
Proficiency in Japanese will be considered an advantage.
- Preferred skills:
- Proficient in MS Office and social media
- Strong communication skills (effective oral and written skills, both in English and Vietnamese).
- Flexibility, determination, enthusiasm and ability to cope under pressure.
- Creativity and planning skills, willingness to learn
- Organizational skills, time management.
- Good teamwork, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Attitudes:
- High commitment to deadline.
- Highly responsible toward work.
- Cooperation, accountability and services oriented.

Recruitment process
- Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by recruitment committee established by the Rector.
Successful candidate will be offered a 1-year contract (2 months’ probation period). The Incumbent can be offered another 2-year contract upon the satisfaction of his/her performance.
