Meet Professor Shirai Koun – JICA expert currently teaching Master’s Program in Nanotechnology at Vietnam Japan University.
Here is the teaching experience of Professor Shirai Koun at VJU:
At VJU, I am working at Nanotechlonogy Program (MNT) and conducting theoretical researches on the properties of matter by using first-principles calculations. These calculations require the use of high-performance computers, and fortunately, VJU has such facilities and program codes. Now many material researchers use first-principles codes. However, I have experience in developing a program code, which brings about an advantage in deep interpretation of the calculation results. Japan has a community of first-principles calculations. I wish to organize a workshop on computational materials design with them and like to contribute to Vietnam’s development in this field.
