On November 27, 2020, H.E Mr. Tsutomu Takebe, Special Advisor of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Alliance visited VJU and had a talk with students of Bachelor program in Japanese Studies (BJS).
Attendants in the meeting included Mr. To Huy Rua – VJU’s Honorary Rector, Rector Board, BJS’s lecturers and students.
Mr. Tsutomu Takebe has played a special role in VJU’s establishment and development with significant contributions. His efforts are imprinted not only in VJU’s foundation but in its duration of development, in each of its milestones. “Vietnam Japan University” has been always mentioned in his important meetings between leaders of the two countries.
At an intimate conversation with BJS’s students, Mr. Tsutomu Takebe shared their stories and feelings about their upcoming journey. He also saved his beliefs and expectations to VJU’s young faces with meaningful messages.
At the meeting, students expressed their appreciation for the efforts that diplomats of the two countries have been making to develop a high quality education in which each of the students will incubate their own dreams and intentions. Hoang Thi Chi, one BJS’s student said: “I know that Japan has gone through difficulties after World War II. However, the Japanese have made a lot of efforts and recovered quickly. We were encouraged by your stories, especially a saying that “You students must treasure every day, every day, strive to move forward to the future”. We will try harder and hope you will continue to teach us more.”
Quach Quang Thuong shared his feelings: “I feel a real motivation to develop myself to the future after your online speech at the Opening Ceremony. Being young and enthusiastic, we have plenty of opportunities for development and we can create a wonderful life for ourselves and for the society. I am going to do my best to live a meaningful fife.”
