Welcome to the Lunch break petit seminar:
“Coastal Adapations to Climate Change: From Global to Local Perspectives”
Speaker: Assoc. Prof.Dr. Makoto TAMURA
Abstract: Sea level rise (SLR) due to climate change poses a serious threat to human populations in coastal areas. Consequently, it is important to consider the potential economic risks and the cost of adaptation within the context of climate change. This seminar shows current impact assessment of SLR and economic assessments of adaptation measures from global scales to national and local scales. Coastal regions can be protected more efficiently and economically by employing adaptation measures that combine gray infrastructure and green infrastructure in areas considered to be at risk of inundation.
