In the first working day at VJU, VJU staffs and lecturers has reunited after 9 days off for Tet Holiday. As Vietnamese traditional etiquette, normally in the first day of the working year, people usually gather to greet and give “lì xì” to each other for the wish of happy, healthy and wealthy year.

In VJU, where the multicultural environment exists, both Japanese and Vietnamese people extremely enjoy Tet holiday together. According Japanese experts and lecturers at VJU, Japan has only one new year holiday as solar calendar; however, in Vietnam, there is another new year holiday as lunar calendar, called Tet Holiday in Vietnam with lots of exciting and happy things.
One of the most interesting activities is “Lì xì” (pronounced as [li˨˩ si˨˩]). As some other countries in Asia, people in Vietnam often give lucky money for others to express love, care and appreciation for the recipients. “Lì xì” is a wonderful Vietnamese words and has been used for a long time as traditional activity of new days of new years. In Vietnam, “Lì xì” are typically given to those who are younger.
