On February 25, 2025, Vietnam Japan University (VJU) – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) held the inauguration ceremony of its temporary campus at the QG-HN04 site in Hoa Lac. The event was attended by representatives from VNU, the Embassy of Japan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and strategic partners.
The establishment of this temporary campus marks a significant milestone in VJU’s development, ensuring a modern and advanced academic environment for faculty members and students while awaiting the completion of its main campus. With the support of JICA under the TC2 Project, the facilities at QG-HN04 have been renovated and equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory equipment to meet training and research demands.
At the ceremony, Mr. Sugano Yuichi, Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam, reaffirmed JICA’s commitment to supporting VJU in becoming a globally recognized academic institution. He expressed his expectation that VJU students would emerge as global talents, playing a crucial role in fostering Vietnam Japan and ASEAN regional connections.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu, Permanent Vice President of VNU, emphasized VNU’s priority in supporting VJU to develop into a center of excellence in education and research. Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Oanh, Vice President of VJU, expressed gratitude for the continuous support from partners and highlighted that the advanced learning environment in Hoa Lac would significantly enhance students’ academic and research experiences.

The temporary campus at QG-HN04 spans a total area of 19 hectares with over 28,000 square meters of floor space, encompassing key functional zones such as the administrative building, lecture halls, laboratories, dormitories, conference halls, library, and self-study areas. Cutting-edge equipment worth hundreds of thousands of US dollars has been installed to facilitate high-quality training and research. This well-planned investment underscores the firm commitment of all stakeholders to maintaining superior educational standards, aligning with the goal of establishing VJU as a world-class university. With a solid foundation of modern infrastructure, strong support from VNU and JICA, and a commitment to sustainable development, Vietnam Japan University continues to affirm its role as a bridge in education and research between Vietnam and Japan.
