The Master’s Program in Public Policy at Vietnam Japan University (VJU) is designed to prepare students with deep knowledge and understanding of the complexity and challenges of public policy, its formulation, implementation, and evaluation. The program also aims to equip students with a set of analytical tools and essential skills necessary to be more effective managers, leaders, decision-makers and implementers who have not only a sustainable vision but also the capacity of finding and solving problems as well as taking leadership in achieving the vision.

Duration: 24 months

Training Method: Fulltime

Teaching language: Vietnamese and English

Location: Vietnam Japan University – My Dinh Campus

 

Awarded degree: The Degree of Master in Economics (specialized in Public Policy)

  • Work in the fields of planning and implementing public policies as analysts, consultants, implementers and evaluators;
  • Academic researchers and members of teaching staff at research institutes, national and international universities;
  • Consultants and coordinators at international organizations or NGOs;
  • Study PhD degrees at both national and international education institutions;
  • High quality, based on the curriculum of Tsukuba University, modified to meet the requirements of Vietnam’s context;
  • International academic environment; at least 50% of lecturers from Japan; modern facilities; participation in projects with well-known professors;
  • Substantially subsidized tuition fees; full scholarships for outstanding students;
  • A 3-month fully covered internship in Japan for 50% of students;
  • Modern knowledge and skills in a multi-cultural context, especially Japanese;
  • Competency when applying for jobs at Vietnamese, Japanese enterprises and international organizations upon graduation;

The coordinating university of VJU’s Master’s Program in Public Policy. One of the top 10 most prestigious universities in Japan. 

 

 

The curriculum consists of a total of 64 credits, including core courses in fundamental and professional knowledge, as well as elective courses in each specified field. This is the tentative schedule that will be applied from MPP 6th intake.

2. Application method: Application documents screening and interview.

3. Interview method

The candidate may choose one of the two following interview methods:

  - On-site interview: Candidates are requested to go to VJU campus to participate in a face-to-face interview with the admission committee;

  - Online interview: Only those candidates who cannot join on-site interview at VJU campus due to geographical or work conditions may propose the admissions committee to allow them to take online interview via Internet connection.
