Vietnam Japan University (VJU) is a new university model in Vietnam, the seventh member university under Vietnam National University-Hanoi (VNU), envisaged to become an internationally recognized university, and a symbol of the close and fruitful cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
As VNU’s member university, VJU can leverage upon VNU’s intrinsic advantages and resources. Job Purpose
To deliver marketing products, organize events for student recruitment to support the annual admission plan of VJU.
Required duties and responsibilities
Recruitment
- – Enhance existing/develop new relationships with schools and colleges and other national organisations where applicants are to be found.
- – Develop and organise a range of on-campus recruitment events by liaising with departmental staff and relevant colleagues at VJU.
- – Present the information of admission to visitors, applicants and families on-campus.
- – Develop the university management information on student recruitment to inform the development of university policy and to target new recruitment potentials.
- – Take part in developing and implementing the university marketing and student recruitment strategy to support the university’s strategic objectives with emphasis on developing the use of web, emarketing and new media aligned with the university’s marketing and web strategies.
- – Systematically gather market and competitor intelligence and conduct market research, disseminating findings across the university.
- – Work with faculties to offer market intelligence relating to the revision and development of new portfolios of courses.
- – Develop a network of relevant marketing contacts within and outside the university and use this network to inform the development of university activity.
- – Manage the development and market analysis/testing of programs and university-level promotional material for publication via print, web, new media by liaising with academic staff, IT, PR and relevant colleagues.
Other Duties
- – Other appropriate duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Marketing for VJU’s training programs
- Conduct regular research on higher education market and propose solutions to help VJU keep pace with a changing work environment.
- Develop and implement marketing plan and toolkit to advertise VJU’s training programs (under graduation and graduation) with excellence of operation.
- Liaise and network with teachers and careers professionals to develop effective relationships to meet recruitment targets.
- Develop and organize VJU’s events and marketing campaigns for purpose of recruiting students with the professional manner.
- Student Recruitment
- Coordinate student recruitment activities across VJU to ensure the admission plan
- Review VJU’s student recruitment and admission data in term of success against target and effectiveness of the recruitment strategy.
- Other duties appropriate to the role as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Work and implement the admission campaigns and develop student recruitment strategies of VJU:
Participate in regular PR and student recruitment meetings |
Prepare the administrative work for the Marketing and student recruitment activities |
Track expenses of the admission activities and predict future costs |
Keep track of, evaluate and report on admission progress |
Analyze the current market of student recruitment |
Coordinate with VJU office and lecturers to implement the project activities. |
Collect database of potential students |
Take care of potential students through direct consultation, phone calls, emails or text messaging to persuade them to apply |
Prepare the contents on VJU media channels to attract new students |
Organize student recruitment events |
Research different channels to attract new students |
Qualifications
- Education: University Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or a related field. Master degree is an advantage.
- Work experience:
- Minimum 1 years of working experiences in education recruitment, marketing and related areas.
- Familiar with Japanese academic working style is an advantage.
- Foreign language: Be fluent in spoken and written English (IELTS 5.5+). Proficiency in Japanese will be considered an advantage.
- Preferred skills:
- Proficient in MS Office and social media
- Strong communication skills (effective oral and written skills, both in English and Vietnamese).
- Familiarity with graphic design is an advantage.
- Flexibility, determination, enthusiasm and ability to cope under pressure.
- Creativity and willingness to learn
- Organizational skills, time management.
- Good teamwork, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Attitudes:
- High commitment to deadline.
- Highly responsible toward work.

What VJU can offer
Successful candidate will be offered an attractive remuneration package comprising of:
- Basic monthly salary: negotiable depending on candidate’s profile;
- Monthly meal allowances: 700,000 VND;
- Monthly health care insurance: 500,000 VND;
- Others: following VJU’s regulation.

Recruitment process
- Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by recruitment committee established by the Rector.
Successful candidate will be offered a 1-year contract (2 months’ probation period). The Incumbent can be offered another 2-year contract upon the satisfaction of his/her performance.
